Home Game FAQ

Here’s some general information about attending an Ann Arbor Roller Derby home game. Hope to see you soon!

Where are the games held?

Our games are held in the Buhr Park Arena located at 2751 Packard St, Ann Arbor, MI 48108

Where do I park?

There is parking in front of the arena and in the gravel lot north of the arena. You may also park in the small lot south of the arena next to the tennis courts. Please do not park in the Cobblestone lot.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

There is a ramp from the main parking lot to the arena and a ramp over the lip into the track. There is an open section between the bleachers marked priority accessible seating for those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids. There are wheelchair accessible bathrooms as well.

Are there any items that are not allowed?

Firearms and alcohol are prohibited.

Is there seating?

We have a limited amount of general admission bleacher seating available as well as seating on the ground in the trackside seating area. Dogs and children under 18 are not allowed in trackside seating. We encourage you to arrive early to get the best seating, or bring your own camping chairs or blankets. We do sell a very limited number of VIP tickets that includes a seat trackside in an exclusive Ann Arbor Roller Derby camping chair and some vintage merchandise.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $18 and $15 for students or veterans.

Kids 12 and under are free.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door. We accept cash and credit cards at the door.

Is there a lost and found?

Any items left at our games will be turned in to the Buhr Park staff and will be available for pick up during pool open hours.

What if it rains?

The arena is under a covered pavilion, so games will continue in the rain. In the event of tornado warnings, we will stop gameplay and direct everyone to a safe location. Please check our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates and cancellations.

Are there bathrooms?

Yes, there are bathrooms inside the Buhr Park pool building.

Is roller derby appropriate for kids?

Yes! Roller derby is a family-friendly event. The games can get quite loud, so we highly recommend bringing headphones or earplugs for young children. There’s also a space behind the bleachers where children can run around and we also will have some roller derby themed coloring sheets and crayons. There are some areas it is not safe to enter during a game and these are marked with yellow caution tape. Children are also not allowed to sit in the trackside seating area.

Will there be food?

Yes, we have rotating food trucks at our home games. Inside the pool building, you’ll also find vending machines and a water fountain for refilling water bottles. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks in a small cooler.

I’ve never watched roller derby, will I understand what is going on?

Here’s a great resource for understanding the basic rules of roller derby. We have announcers at our games and you can always ask questions of anyone wearing a badge that says “staff”. We would be more than happy to explain the rules to you!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, however, dogs must remain on a leash at all times and the leash cannot exceed 5 feet. Owners must clean up after their dogs. Dogs that are showing aggressive behavior may be asked to leave.

What if I want to play roller derby?

If you’re new to the sport or to skating in general, check out Crash Course, our yearly program for training new skaters. Absolutely no experience necessary!

If you’re a visiting skater, check out our Skater Drop-In information.
